Frequently Asked Questions

Why not accept insurance?

Working with insurance companies requires huge overhead forcing physicians to see too many patients. The result is patients having to wait a month or more to see their doctor, long wait times in the office and spending only 4 to 7 minutes on average with the doctor. On top of that, patients receive surprise bills and often end up paying much more! Eliminating insurance means the patients get the care they need without the stress and financial burden.

why pay out of pocket when i already have insurance?

We respect your time and your needs. There are no waits to see the doctor. You will have time to explain your situation and you will be heard. The doctor will have time to explain your diagnosis and your treatment plan in terms you will understand. We will come to your home or your business if you’re too busy to travel. No hurry, no stress.

Additionally, the cost tends to be less, especially for those in high deductible and high out-of-pocket plans. You can save thousands of dollars by seeing a direct care physician.

what’s included with my appointment?

All appointments include a physical exam, diagnosis and treatment discussions, basic nail care and wound care if applicable. Things that will cost extra include procedures, injections, labs, medication, xrays, other advanced imaging, wound grafts, braces, boots, orthotics and other medical equipment. We work with organizations that provide a discounted rate for cash paying patients and patients can often use insurance for these items and services if applicable.

why do you collect credit card information upon booking?

When a patient does not show up to an appointment, the doctor loses the time she could have spent helping another patient. Credit card information is collected upon booking to cover the cost of the no-show fee when a patient doesn’t call to cancel an appointment with 24 hours notice. The patient’s card will be charged $50 if they do not show up for a house call. The patient’s card will be charged $25 if they do not show up to an in-office appointment. These fees are only charged when a patient does not show up to an appointment and does not call to cancel their appointment 24 hours ahead of time.

can I pay using an hsa or fsa card?

Yes! We also take cash, checks and credit/debit cards.
